Summary |
"Each art work presented in 'Harmonic Tremors' exhibits a high degree of consciousness about the issues communicated therein (ecological, political, or sociological); its didactical nature falling somewhere along a linear plane. At one end of the spectrum the work may be overly explicit (the clarity itself existing as a trope to be put on show); at the other end, the work may be highly ambiguous. The decision to position the work in a public context enables an accidental encounter between the viewer and the work, stimulating an aesthetic and dialogical expereince that, in turn, has the capacity to evoke transcental thoughts in the viewer about the issues contained therein, potentially leading to change. The accompanying texts provide a snapshot of the opportunities and limitations associated with working in this field, as well as providing an insightful explanation of some of the processes used to fulfil the artists' intentions". -- back cover. |
